Strathpine Taco Bell Construction to Proceed After Denied Development

The planned construction of a Taco Bell outlet on Stanley East Street in Strathpine is going to proceed, following the approval of the appeal in September 2020.

The Planning and Environment Court has rescinded the development application’s denial, which happened in February, and ordered “the Development Application be approved subject to conditions.”

Documents under Development Application 2019 / 38756 / V24P showed that Moreton Bay Council refused because the proposal’s future land development wasn’t maximised. Complaints also stated that the construction would become a flood hazard around the areas on Gympie Rd, Stanley St East and Railway Ave.

ICP Developments Pty Ltd filed an appeal with a new building plan showing how the construction will be able to address and meet the conditions set by the Council.

Apart from Taco Bell, a service station with eight fuel pumps will be built at the corner of Railway Ave and Gympie Rd. The site will have around 19 carparks and ample access to the streets.

The development application was first lodged in mid-2019.

This will be the second Taco Bell in the Moreton Bay region, after the opening of the North Lakes store in 2018. Another outlet is also being planned within a shopping centre expansion on Morayfield Rd.

Collins Food Limited aims to have at least 100 stores in Australia within a four-year period.

Strathpine Couple Bags Gold Lotto Prize, Celebrates With Upsized Coffee

A trip to Hawaii is definitely on this Strathpine couple’s wishlist to enjoy their Gold Lotto winnings, but first, they’re celebrating by splurging on upsized coffee.

“I said to my wife this morning that when we go out for our daily cappuccino instead of getting it in a cup, I’ll splash out and get it in a mug,” the husband said revealing their modest way of celebrating after winning the division one prize of $1 million.

“I might also get a piece of cake too!”

The couple, who wished to remain anonymous, held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3936 which was drawn on Monday 6 January 2020.

“Yahoo! Haha! Thank you!” the husband laughed.

“It’s bloody great! Wahoo!” adds his wife.

The husband said his wife was still out when he checked his ticket after his morning walk and thought that he had won. He wasn’t sure at that time “whether to text her and tell her to come home immediately or to wait.”

“When she walked in the door the first thing I said was ‘there is something you need to see here’. We couldn’t believe it!

“I’m just so glad it’s true and it has been confirmed.

The couple has been playing the same numbers every week since the game started and just chose them at random all those years ago.

“We’ve never won anything more than $100! This is our year!

The couple said that they’ll start writing their wishlist now that they are sure that they indeed win, and that includes a trip to Hawaii.

“My wife wants to go to Hawaii and with this win, I think we’ll be able to manage that!

“We’ll be travelling at the front of the plane too – bloody oath we will!

“We’ll probably have to buy a shipping container for all the shopping my wife will do while we are there!”

The winning 12-game marked entry was purchased at Nextra Strathpine. The winning numbers were 16, 35, 5, 43, 26 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 6.

The financial year, the Lott’s division one winning tally has so far totalled 212, including 53 won by Golden Casket customers.

Moreton Bay Multicultural Fiesta in Strathpine Stirs a Melting Pot of Activities

The annual Moreton Bay Multicultural Fiesta is here again and a melting pot of activities will be stirring up the fun and excitement at Pine Rivers Park in Strathphine.

Happening on Saturday, the 31st of Aug 2019, Moreton Bay Multicultural Fiesta is kicking off at 1:00 p.m. with heaps of family-friendly entertainment and recreational activities. The kids are guaranteed to enjoy the rides whilst foodies young and old will get a kick out of the different food showcased at the food court.

All throughout the afternoon until 6:00 p.m., there will be various songs, dances, musical acts and cultural performances on the main stage. Guests can also visit different cultural stalls where loads of activities will be underway.

Originally dubbed as the Caboolture Multicultural Festival, this event started off as small gathering to celebrate talents, customs and traditions in 1999. Over the years, the Moreton Bay Multicultural Fiesta has ballooned with 6,000 visitors and it has helped raise awareness for the diversity and richness of the Moreton Bay community.

Entrance to this event is free and open to all but guests are recommended to leave their pets at home. They may also bring picnic blankets and have fun on the grass as seating might be limited.
