Couples can celebrate their love any given day but Valentine’s Day is always an occasion to come up with something extra special.

Here are four ways on how to celebrate V-day when you’re in Albany Creek.

A night in Paris may not be in your Valentine’s Day itinerary but who said you can’t still have a romantic French experience? Head on out to Brisbane’s best slice of Paris, the French & Mor Café. The place has been fully renovated and is now channeling a beautiful French patisserie and bakery café vibe. It offers French high tea and artisan breads in a decidedly cosmopolitan atmosphere. The café even offers Oriental Lilies onsite!

Celebrate with Other Couples

Dating on a tight budget? Here’s a way to celebrate that combines romance, practicality, and camaredie, if you don’t mind sharing the day with another couple and then splitting the bill.

Conexio Games Café invites everyone to celebrate the night by doubling the love and the fun. Everyone is welcome to have a double date to take advantage of their special offer of food and drinks for four people. There’s even a choice to go for either complimentary game play at their library or try a bottle of wine for a little extra cost.

Learn to Skate

Protaganists in several romantic comedy films have found love at the skating rink. If you’re single and ready to mingle, why not try your luck at the Valentine’s Skate Party hosted by Skateaway Family Skate Centre on the 16th and 17th of February. Huge teddy bears will be given away each night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Anyone can come with a date or with a mate.

Three Weeks More to Enjoy Discount Vouchers from Skateaway Albany Creek

If you haven’t heard, Skateaway Albany Creek has been giving discount vouchers since the 9th of December 2017 and will continue to do so until the 21st of January 2018. The skating place will also continue giving away a free family pass at every session over the holidays.

To get the discount vouchers, be sure to like their Facebook page and download the vouchers from there.

The fully supervised family skate centre will also recommence its Learn to Skate and Blade Class on the 6th of January 2018. The class lasts for an hour and coaches teach participants basic and important skating skills. The session includes the Skateaway Star Class Program which involves regular testing and giving of feedbacks to the skaters.

Meanwhile, there have been no schedules yet for their Artistic Skating Training for 2018. These sessions are being conducted alternately by 10 coaches from Tuesday to Saturday. All students under this class are automatic members of the Skateaway’s Artistic Club who usually compete in local, national, and international competitions. This training involves two parts. The first is finishing the Learn to Skate and Blade Class and the second is progressing through the Artistic Development Class. Other classes being offered at the Skateaway Albany Creek are figure skating, dance skating, free skating, and precision skating.

Figure skating is a technique where skaters make circles on the floor while performing set turns at intervals.

Dance Skating can be taught for pairs or for individuals skaters. Output may vary from performing set steps or performing a dance to a chosen rhythm.

Freeskating involves various jumps and spins performed to the music chosen by the skater. This can also be taught in pair where performances may involve lifts and throws.

Precision skating involves a team of six to eight skaters or 12 to 24 skaters, completing manoeuvres to music of their choice.

Trick or treat?

It’s the time of the year again to dress up in your favourite Halloween costumes and go candy-hunting or thrill-seeking! If you want to celebrate Halloween with a new twist, head down to Skateaway Albany Creek for “thrill-filled” and “fright-filled” nights of skating. This is a fun event for kids, so take the kids to Skateaway and let them enjoy an experience where horror meets fun.

Happening for two nights, the event will have different spooky themes per evening!

“Brains!” Are zombies your favourite Halloween characters? If so, the Friday skate night is the perfect night for you. Zombies are, indeed, one of the scariest creatures ever. Don’t forget to dress up as a zombie to go into the draw to win a “Super Saver” or 10 visit pass to Skateaway.

Just like the Zombie Skate Night, there will be a raffle draw. One lucky winner will receive a “Super Saver” award.
