Alice Cooper Rocks Brisbane Bar with Surprise Midnight Gig After Eatons Hill and Gold Coast Shows

American rock icon Alice Cooper, 76, performed before a stunned audience at a secret midnight gig at Alice Bar in Brisbane, after performances in Eatons Hill and the Gold Coast, capping off his headlining act at the Pandemonium Rocks festival in spectacular fashion.

After captivating audiences at the Pandemonium Rocks festival on the 4th of May 2024– alongside legendary acts like Blondie, Cooper and his band, affectionately known as the Goon Squad – treated a lucky crowd to a spontaneous set at the intimate Brisbane bar.

The American rocker, who has been touring Australia since early April with shows in Melbourne, Sydney, the Gold Coast, and Brisbane’s Eatons Hill, took to Instagram to re-share a clip from the night, performing his 1994 hit “Lost In America.”

The surprise gig came amidst challenges faced by the Pandemonium Rocks festival. Earlier this month, six acts, including international headliners Placebo, Deep Purple, and US band Dead Kennedys, were scrapped from the lineup.

The festival’s multi-stage layout was also condensed into one stage, and several dates were relocated. In response, general admission tickets were slashed from around $285 to $190, whilst VIP tickets were reduced from $830 to $650.

Pandemonium Rocks’ decision not to offer full refunds to ticketholders sparked outrage among fans. Instead, attendees were offered one complimentary GA ticket per full-priced ticket purchased, a partial refund of $70, or an “exclusive Pandemonium hoodie valued at $100.” Fans took to social media to voice their disapproval over the lack of a full refund option.

Last month, the festival faced cancellation fears after a string of Australian festivals were axed. However, organisers reassured fans that the festival would proceed with “some changes,” before officially confirming the lineup alterations.
