After a baptism of fire, teenager is hoping for more senior chances
DINO Mujkanovic, who started the season with ACE Under 18s, could hardly have been given a tougher senior debut last weekend.
He was sent on after just 15 minutes, replacing key midfielder Takeru Saito in a vital match at the home of league leaders Easts.
Not only did Dino handle the situation well, he’s hoping for more – starting tomorrow when Grange visit Wolter Park, kick-off 8.30pm.
“I definitely thought this is my chance,” said the 18-year-old who helped ACE to a 1-1 draw, “there were some nerves, but I was really excited and keen to get on.
“There is quite a step up from under 18s to the first team so I just tried work as hard as possible and get the ball as much as possible.
“It lifts your confidence, 100 per cent. Getting a chance to play first team, especially to

Praise for point
Coach Pouria pays tribute to players who stepped up against league leaders
THERE were mixed emotions after ACE’s 1-1 draw at league leaders Easts last night.
Chom Arop had put ACE ahead with a first-half penalty – his 10th goal in six games – and raised hopes of a vital victory. Easts had a player dismissed, but equalised from the spot in the second half.
However, ACE’s point came despite losing key midfielder Takeru Saito who dislocated a shoulder after just 15 minutes and being taken to hospital.
Coach Pouria Nabi said Takeru is back home but will be out of action for a couple of weeks. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Saito’s injury stretched ACE’s squad further on the night, but drew praise for the the battling display and taking a share of the points.
ACE started with a bench including Reserve team players Jack Baresic and Daniel Sciarretta who had played all 90 minutes
Battle of the hotshots
Sharpshooters go head-to head: It’s Chom and Royce versus Farina and Shol
THERE’S more than just three points at stake on Saturday when ACE travel to Flight Centre Premier League leaders Easts.
The league’s hotshots also go head-to-head – Chom Arop and Royce Brownlie for ACE, Jordan Farina and Youeil Shol for Easts.
Chom currently leads the BPL scoring charts with 12 goals (nine in the last five games), from Farina and Shol each with 11 and Royce just behind on eight.
It was ACE captain Royce whose header just before the interval clinched a narrow win over Easts at Wolter Park back in March.
But Easts are now top of the closest competition in years, five points ahead of ACE who are in seventh but with a game in hand.
“I think it’s going to be another close game and it doesn’t matter who scores (for us),” said Chom.
“There’s pressure on both teams. They are

11/6/17 ACE CARNIVAL POSTPONED
CARNIVALS AT ACE
The ACE FC Carnival has been postponed due to the wet weather. The fields are too wet to play the carnival as the excessive use will cause damage to the waterlogged fields. Team managers will be contacted about a possible reschedule or refund.
ACE Football Club has been running carnivals for many years and they are hugely popular events. As a club we pride ourselves on running efficient, fair, competitive and above all hugely enjoyable carnivals for our Junior players. The ACE Carnivals are a “must do” event for many clubs both North and South of the River. Each year they grow in terms of attendance figures and popularity. Our Carnival Coordinator Tricia Mendham – tricia_warwick@telstra.com will be happy to answer your questions about our carnivals.

Zero derby pressure
Catch-up could see ACE back into top four
FIVE weeks ago ACE against Mitchelton was a top-of-the-table derby clash. Tomorrow night (June 9) at Wolter Park (kick-off 8.30pm) it is third against seventh – but with just as much at stake.
Only three points separate second-placed Lions and ACE, in seventh. Victory tomorrow would see ACE leap back into the top four or Mitchelton go joint top with Easts.
But ACE coach Pouria Nabi is not buying in to the extra hype against our nearest geographical rivals.
“There’s zero pressure,” he said, “this a catch-up game. It will mean we have played the same number of games as most other teams.
“Of course we want to win and get three points, but we’re aiming to win every game. We want to make the top four and reach the finals.
“(Despite the last two results, defeats at Holland Park and Lions) I am really optimistic about this
