New era dawns

Tough start to test Steve Glockner’s new-look ACE squad
A NEW chapter starts in the history of Albany Creek Excelsior tomorrow night when The Gap visit Wolter Park, kick-off 8.30pm.
ACE have a new coach, new captain and a new-look squad in a much-changed Brisbane Premier League. But the targets remain the same.
Coach Steve Glockner said the extra preparation time, due to last weekend’s heavy rain and postponement of the Round One match at Grange, had been useful.
“It’s helped us,” he said, “we’ve been able to do more with the players. It’s been a positive for us.
“The squad is still developing, but we’ve had a bit more time to get to know the players, identify their strengths and understand them.
“But it will still be nice to actually start the season.”
Cristian Sorbello is back and will captain the side tomorrow against The Gap, who finished eighth in the Capital League 1 last year
