Coach Pouria pays tribute to players who stepped up against league leaders
THERE were mixed emotions after ACE’s 1-1 draw at league leaders Easts last night.
Chom Arop had put ACE ahead with a first-half penalty – his 10th goal in six games – and raised hopes of a vital victory. Easts had a player dismissed, but equalised from the spot in the second half.
However, ACE’s point came despite losing key midfielder Takeru Saito who dislocated a shoulder after just 15 minutes and being taken to hospital.
Coach Pouria Nabi said Takeru is back home but will be out of action for a couple of weeks. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Saito’s injury stretched ACE’s squad further on the night, but drew praise for the the battling display and taking a share of the points.
ACE started with a bench including Reserve team players Jack Baresic and Daniel Sciarretta who had played all 90 minutes
