Vale Keith Wruck

Tributes paid to “father of our club” – Keith Wruck
KEITH Wruck, the “father” of Albany Creek Excelsior (ACE) Football Club, has died aged 92.
Mr Wruck, who owned a 33-acre farm in Albany Creek, was a key figure in the club’s formation in 1963 and the next two decades.
He was also on the P&C of Albany Creek State School, in the auxillary firebrigade and Albany Creek Citizen of the Year in the late 1970s.  Albany Creek shopping centre and tavern now stand on the land he farmed and the joining road, Wruck Crescent, is named after him.
Mr Wruck moved to the Sunshine Coast hinterland in the late 1980s and then Caloundra. He passed away at an aged care home in Beerwah on Saturday, May 6.
As a mark of respect a minute’s silence will be held at Wolter Park at 3.30pm on Saturday (May 13) before the ACE senior men’s game against Souths.
