Pre-season victory has given ACE confidence before landmark fixture
THE ACE Capital League 1 team, pictured, will be part of a small slice of club history on Friday night.
Their opening league fixture is part one of Wolter Park’s first women’s double header.
Following the ACE match against Pine Rivers Athletic (6.30pm) will be Moreton Bay United women against Lions (8.30pm) in the NPL Qld.
ACE enter Friday’s game with a new squad, in a new competition, three pre-season games and a coach with growing confidence.
“It is our first time in this competition and about half our squad is new,” said coach Matt van Daalen, “but after the Grange game I’m feeling confident.
“It was a good win (4-3) in a local derby against a good side. Some have said Grange will be the team to beat, so if that’s the case, it was a good performance.
