Keeper wants senior match time
GOALKEEPER Xander Gwynn-Jones has joined Albany Creek Excelsior (ACE) with his own targets – and a challenge from coach Pouria Nabi.
Gwynn-Jones, 20, played nine games for Moreton Bay United Under 20s last season, and was on the bench four times for the senior NPL side.
“I want game time, so I made the switch because that seems the best move for me and I’ll get most game time out of it,” said Gwynn-Jones.
“It’s senior level I’m striving to get to. For a goalkeeper it is essential to develop through match time.
“I have no guarantees. I’ll just work as hard as I can to break through in to the top team.
“I hope it (signing for ACE) will help me develop as a player, to make the right decisions in games.
